Torture Squad, one of the biggest names in Brazilian metal, released the music video for the track “Find My Way.” The song is from the band’s latest album, Devilish, released in September 2023 on the Italian label Time to Kill.
The video, filmed at some of São Paulo’s top venues, such as Morrison Rock Bar, Manifesto Rock Bar, House of Legends, and Red Star Studios, features an intense and captivating atmosphere. The footage was captured in January 2025 and reflects the band’s energy on stage.
“Find My Way” stands out as the most progressive composition on the album “Devilish” and in the band’s entire discography. The song originated during the band’s 2019 Mexican tour. According to the band members, the musical idea was inspired by Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” seeking a distinctive rhythmic approach without the predominance of drums. Furthermore, Mayara Puertas’ vocal performance, exploring a cleaner singing style, helped cement this innovative aesthetic.
The lyrics to “Find My Way” were influenced by the band’s remarkable experience at the Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico. The visit to the site had a profound impact on the musicians, providing inspiration for the song. “It was a magical experience that gave us goosebumps from beginning to end and led us to a state of intense reflection,” the band members commented.
Tributes
The music video for “Find My Way” features a special tribute to Mexican promoter Adan Moreno, who led Torture Squad’s 2019 tour in the country and passed away years later due to COVID-19. The tribute also extends to Cristiano Fusco (former Torture Squad guitarist), Vinicius Neves (host of Stay Heavy and Roadie Crew columnist), and Airton Diniz (founder of Roadie Crew magazine), great friends of the band who recently passed away.

Torture Squad returns to Wacken Open Air
In addition to releasing the music video, Torture Squad is preparing new tracks for its European tour and has just confirmed its participation in Wacken Open Air, the world’s largest heavy metal festival, held annually in Germany. The band will take the stage on July 30th, becoming the only Brazilian band to perform four times at the event. Their previous appearances were in 2007, with the Chaos Corporation Tour, when they won the Metal Battle; in 2008 with the Hellbound Tour; and in 2011 with the Aequilibrium Tour. Now, the group returns with the Devilish Tour to reaffirm their strength on the international stage.
This will be the first time with the new lineup, which features Rene Simionato on guitar and Mayara Puertas on vocals. “2025 will be a big year for us. We’re celebrating 10 years with this lineup, and there’s nothing more special than celebrating by returning to the biggest metal festival in the world!” commented Mayara. “Since I joined the band, it’s been my goal to take the Wacken stage, because I know how much this festival has contributed to Torture Squad’s career since they won the Battle of the Bands in 2007. Almost 20 years later, we’ll return with more energy than ever, very proud to represent Brazilian metal!”
Drummer Amilcar Christófaro said: “I’m happy that Torture Squad is performing at one of the biggest metal festivals in the world, WOA, for the fourth time. I’m also happy for Mayara Puertas and Rene Simionato to have the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of this festival together on the tour supporting one of the most important albums in Torture Squad’s career. And to our fifth member, Beto Bisca, the harder we work, the more our dreams of conquering the world together grow. Wacken Open Air?? Just a warning… HELL IS COMING!”
Wacken Open Air 2025 will take place between July 30th and August 2nd and will feature Guns N’ Roses as headliner, along with bands from different styles and generations, such as Machine Head, Gojira, Within Temptation, Saxon, and Grave Digger. Tickets are already sold out.
About the Devilish Album
Torture Squad is considered by extreme music fans as one of the most visceral and powerful metal bands currently active. With nearly three decades of experience, with excellent live performances, including at the world’s most important metal festivals, the Brazilian group has amassed legions of fans, playing throughout the country, Latin America, and Europe.
On their second album with the new lineup, Mayara Puertas (Vocals), Rene Simionato (Guitar), Castor (Bass), and Amilcar Christófaro (Drums) maturely transcend the sound of extreme metal, incorporating progressive metal, Brazilian music influences, and symphonic elements.
The album also pays tribute to Brazilian heroes with a guest appearance by Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) on the track “Buried Alive,” and a tribute to Rickson Gracie, the resilient Jiu-Jitsu fighter considered one of the sport’s greatest legends, the subject of the track “Warrior.” The band also enlisted several musicians linked to Indigenous causes to collaborate on the song “Uatumã”—Suzane Hecate (Miasthenia), Victor Rodrigues (Tribal Scream), and João Luiz (Golpe de Estado)—making a plea for the preservation of the Amazon in a song that flows powerfully with the words of Indigenous leader Raoni Metuktire and tribal rhythms.
As a first taste of the action, the band released their first single, “Mabus,” accompanied by a lyric video by Wanderley Perna. “Devilish” was recorded and mixed by Diego Rocha at Bay Area Studios, and mastered by Martin Fury, guitarist for Destruction and known for his work with The Damnation, Invisible Control, and Eskrota.
